About Me

I worked full-time in the website and graphic design industry for 10 years. Once I got pregnant and had my son, I decided it was time for me to be at home with him full time. I still had a creative side of myself that needed to be satisfied, so I started getting into crafts and designing my own birthday party decorations and holiday decor. I thought why not do some designing for others now and turn it into a gig while I am at home! So I decided to start an Etsy store to sell digital goods.

Technical Background:
I have worked in the web design field for 10 years. In 2003, I achieved an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Multimedia and Web Design from St. Charles Community College. This was a good platform for learning the skill set I needed to start a career but through self-teaching while working within the industry, is when I truly advanced and grew such as experimenting with new HTML/CSS techniques that I had not yet learned or used. With an industry that is constantly changing and upgrading, I try to stay up-to-date with current trends and standards in design. I have worked mostly in WordPress and with many plugins that compliment the powerful CMS. I have also dabbled with other systems such as ZenCart, OpenRealty, WebCalendar and PHPList. I also have experience in implementing scripts such as Lightbox, Nivo Slider and Countdown.js to name a few.

In addition to the above, I have had plenty of experience in graphic design by designing business cards, brochures, postcards, website ads and banners as well.

Personal Info:
about-meAmy Tuerck (pronounced turk)
I am a stay-at-home mother of an energetic 5 year old little boy. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, trying new recipes, crafting banners and decorations, playing video games, going to the movies and hosting outdoor movies at my home, keeping up with current events and politics, and finding new ways for self improvement. I have a curious heart by nature and love learning and challenging ideas. I feel very blessed in my life and am grateful for all that I have.
